Ok… not sure what happened but I had to reload June’s backup which is the last time I did my backup. Now I’m thinking I should do my backups more regularly. Rebuilding all those stories since June is gonna take me a while so please bear with me.
Also the gallery needs to be rebuilt as well. I have all the pictures, just not sure which ones I had posted.

So we went in again to what we thought was an ultrasound but apparently we just did a check up and heard the baby’s heartbeat. We also had to get paperwork for our followup blood work on the NT test. Next week should be exciting because we will find out what gender the baby will be. YAY!

Just saw this in my email and thought maybe someone may benefit from this. I’ve already got a couple of shoes before this came out so I lost out on $20. Check out the coupon for the Reebok store. Link only works til June 20th.

Well, I finally got a chance to do a guys night out with the Korean men and drink like real men do. Just kidding. But we did go to a dive bar that was like in the middle of some industrial end of the town. I didn’t think that there were places like that but I guess every city has their “bad” part of town. The interesting thing about this place is that it has deep fried twinkies. It did taste good, and this was before we started drinking. Apparently we were told not to ask what was in it. I’m sure they have all the twinkies soaking in butter and roll it in gram crackers and fry it. Mine came with sprinkles and marshmallows with fudge drizzled all over it. Well, I had 6 drinks of whiskey and ended up giving a lecture on how whiskey was made and how to appreciate it. Yeah, I’m one of those guys with a lot of useless information… that is unless you need to make cough syrup with whiskey.

Man, something was up with Momo today. For some reason she had the idea of getting into one of her bins which is tucked away under the TV console. Now it wasn’t pushed all the way under but she just have pulled it. Later we found that the reason she was going crazy was because there was a can of wet dog food that exploded. We were glad that she didn’t get to it because she could have been seriously ill from bacterial food poisoning. She did however tore through a whole bag of treats and a large dentibone. She even finished her dinner that we left out before leaving!

Well, this wasn’t eventful but they had this small device that can hear the baby’s heartbeat and not the actual ultrasonic device. We mostly heard the results for the NT test we had taken a few weeks earlier. Sorry, no pictures.

Finally after being married we visited some of our relatives. We took that opportunity over the long Memorial weekend. We couldn’t do it earlier because we were doing house hunting and different kinds of errands. After contemplating for a while, we decided that its probably better to rent.
Anyhow we started pretty late on Friday because we weren’t sure if Alice wasn’t feeling up to it. I didn’t want to risk anything happening to the baby. It was actually the first day of our second trimester so we were in the clear but still. It was a pretty long drive because I tried to stop frequently. I had Alice and Momo to worry about. There was one segment where we thought that Momo puked and stunk up the car but apparently she was gagging from the smell. Opening the windows made the car reak even more. Momo was like our early smell detector. We finally arrive around 1AM at Doug and Phil’s place.

The next day we headed out to Din Tai Fung to eat some gorgeous soup dumplings or xiao long bao. There was a crazy long line by the time we got there and ended up to be an hour wait. The even more insane thing was there was still a longer line after we finished and headed out. Since we were out that side of LA, we checked out Hollywood Blvd, Rodeo Drive, and Sunset Blvd. We got out to take some pictures of the Chinese Theater and the Avenue of the Stars. We didn’t stay long and headed toward K-town to pick up some asian pears. Apparently we can’t find any in the bay area right now but it seemed to be abundant in LA. Once we got back to Huntington Beach, we ran out to Naples Rib Company to eat some BBQ. I couldn’t even start on mine because I had to finish Alice’s half of a steak. Even then she had leftover ribs to take home. We slept gooooooood that night.
The next day we went out to hit up the surrounding area near Huntington Beach. Unfortunately we didn’t go to the beach for Momo but then again, we figured we could do that back at home when it warms up. We went to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney next to Disneyland. OMG!!! the beignets were off the chain! They were just as good as Cafe Du Monde… well almost. But still, it’s been almost 10 years since I had those evil gut busters and have been craving them for all that time. Just the dumb goofy smile of immense satisfaction pretty much tells it all. Later that evening we met up with my cousin Sang and his family. Their two daughters were cute but the smallest in my opinion was adorable.

On our last day we headed back up towards Hollywood parting with our friends Doug and Phil. We went to meet up with my other cousin, Erin. I can’t really comment on where she lives but I’m just hoping its really temporary. We had lunch in K-town and then started our way back home. We stopped really quick to the Griffith Observatory (which I really wanted to see at night) and snapped some shots of the Hollywood sign. About half way up, we stopped for dinner at the Harris Ranch per Doug’s suggestion and boy was it a great suggestion. We had the prime rib and the ribeye. Mine was cooked to perfection and Alice had to have hers well done. Even though, the prime rib was still tender. Amazing.
Of course we still had to drive through that toxic fume of bovine methane gas cloud shortly after that exit. Somehow the stench seeped into the car and almost made Alice gag.

Our first overseas visitors came to see us. Well, not just us… they came since it was on the way from Chicago. In any case we went to downtown San Francisco again and toured the pier and surrounding area. I guess they were ok with it but they wanted to go shopping. Well, we took them to the Gilroy outlet and they went nuts! I’ve seen girls shop but this was like Hollywood shopping where you see the high maintenance girl prancing in and out of Gucci, Prada, Tiffany, etc with all these bags. Well, this is what they kind of looked like. What’s even funnier was them trying to cram all that stuff into a small box. Amazingly they did it and was able to go right under the bag and weight limit. It was sure a sight to see.

Another weekend of going out to Napa. This time we went out with a few of Alice’s coworkers and headed up to a few wineries. We had a late start so we met up with everyone at about lunch time. We had to visit their first stop, Chateau St. Jean. I was anticipating their regular cabs but I suppose we ended up enjoying their reserves. Yeah, can’t really shell out that much cash anymore. Money for reserves will be going into the “baby reserves”. We met up with everyone at Honig and I thought that its was commonly found in stores. Later I found out that they don’t sell their Sauvignon Blanc Late Harvest anywhere else along with other bottles. I am sad that I didn’t get it then… but I suppose that will go into the “baby reserves” yet again. After having lunch and wine at Honig, we moved onto Swanson Vineyards where they also had a nice picnic area. After the short stop everyone was headed home but we actually ended up going to Sequoia Grove. I heard of a review that rated their regular cab above 90 points. The wine tasted very good but I think I’ll wait till they put this particular cab on a weekly special.

We went in to a different office that our primary doctor referred us to. Apparently the place they referred us to had better equipment. However better equipment doesn’t equate to better staff. They were quick to get us into a room but the tech wasn’t very… how should I put it? Not very tactful. He was jabbing the probe into Alice’s stomach and I could tell she was uncomfortable. At the same time the tech was saying this is ok and the baby isn’t harmed at all. Well, you might want to ask the patient if they aren’t harmed you dummy! At least he could warn Alice of some slight discomfort. Also, I think there are better ways to get the baby to move without having to jab the stomach. What was he thinking?
In any case it was awesome to see because you can actually see the arms and legs move around. You can actually see a baby moving around! I think thats when it started to hit me that we are having a baby.
